Sigishoara
SIGISHOARA
Sighişoara is a UNESCO world heritage site, and is one of the few inhabited medieval fortresses in Europe. Inside the old fortress there is the Clock Tower (64m high, the emblem of Sigishoara), and the house where Vlad the Impaler was born. You can still see on the fortress walls holes suffered during historical bombardments and the narrow, dark streets take you back to the Middle Ages.
Every summer in July there is the Medieval Festival, where people from all over the country gather for a few days in this Middle Age citadel, and recreate and re-enact a medieval atmosphere with music, costumes, plays and plenty of drinking.
