Day 1 SOFIA
Professional guide meets the group at the airport. Transfer to a hotel in Sofia and accommodation. In the afternoon we make short city tour of Sofia including St. Nedelya Sq., St George Rotunda (4th c.), the Presidential Office Building, the National Theatre, the City Garden, Russian Church St. Nicolas, the Parliament Square, the St. Alexander Nevski Memorial Cathedral with the most valuable collection of Bulgarian Icons (13-19th c), St. Sofia Church (6th c). Overnight in Sofia.
Day 2 SOFIA-RILA MONASTERY-SANDANSKI-SOFIA ( 305 km.)
Depart to Sandanski for visiting a farm for sheep in the area of Sandanski. En route visit Rila Monastery- the most famous and the most fascinating monastery in Bulgaria, under UNESCO protection. Tour of the monastery and visit to the monastery church, museum, and kitchen, known as Magernitsa. Drive back to Sofia and overnight in Sofia.
Day 3 SOFIA- PLOVDIV (170 km.)
Breakfast. In the morning approx. 2 hrs. meeting with the agricultural specialists*. Departure to Tsalapitsa village for visiting a modern farm for cows. In the afternoon visit of Brestovitsa boutique wine cellar. Wine tasting (5 simple) and dinner with typical bulgarian meal - local specials meal. Accommodation at hotel and overnight at hotel in Plovdiv
Day 4 PLOVDIV-VELIKO TARNOVO ( 155 km. )
Breakfast. Tour of the Old Town of the city of Plovdiv - an imposing open-air museum, situated on the three hills of the ancient Trimontium. Visit to the Ancient Theatre (a well-preserved Roman amphitheatre), the Ethnographic Museum, and some other interesting sites. Departure to Veliko Tarnovo - the capital of the Second Bulgarian Kingdom. En route visit Memorial Church of Shipka, erected after Bulgaria's Liberation from Turkish rule as a monument of both Russian and Bulgarian soldiers who died in the fierce battles there stop at Etara - Bulgaria's open-air museum of authentic traditional crafts, created to preserve the appearance and the spirit of the old time Bulgarian mountain villages and the manufacturing traditions of the region for the future generations. Overnight in Veliko Turnovo.
Day 5 VELIKO TARNOVO-PLEVEN (120 km.)
Breakfast. Tour of Veliko Tarnovo town with visit to the medieval fortress of Tsarevets; the Old Marketplace, Samovodska Tcharshia; and some other landmarks. Drive to Lyaskovets town where degust wines in a famous local winery. Then proceed to Pleven.Visit farm for snails in the surrounding of Pleven. Overnight in Pleven
Day 6 PLEVEN-SOFIA (225 km.)
Breakfast Departure to Sofia. En route visit Troyan Monastery-one of the biggest monasteries in Bulgaria and home of one of the the holiest icons in Bulgarian Orthodoxy- the three-handed Virgin. The church is painted by the famous Bulgarian painter at that time-Zahari Zograph. Continue to Sofia. Overight in Sofia.
Day 7 SOFIA, DEPARTURE TO THE COUNTRY OF ORIGIN
Breakfast. Transfer to airport Sofia with Englih-speaking assistance. Check in the airport. End of services.
