Day 1 BUCHAREST
Arrival in Bucharest. Transfer to a hotel. The first day in Romania begins with a tour of the capital, which includes the Palace of the Parliament (also called the House of the People) - the second largest building in the world after the US Pentagon building; the Archbishop's Complex; Calea Victoriei (formerly called "Podul Mogosoaei"), and the Village Museum (established in 1956 by D. Gusti). Overnight at a hotel in Bucharest
Day 2 BUCHAREST - CURTEA DE ARGES - SIBIU (250 km.)
Breakfast. Departure to Curtea de Arges - the ancient capital of Wallachia. There we will visit the residence of Prince Basarab Neagoe and the Monastery of Curtea de Arges, acquired by him in the sixteenth century. After that we continue to Sibiu, formerly the richest city in Transylvania. We passed the Old River George, where you can see its breathtaking beauty. Along the way, we also visit the Cozia Monastery, built in the fourteenth century by the grandfather of Dracula. Accommodation at hotel in Sibiu.
Day 3 SIBIU - BIERTAN - SIGHISOARA - BISTRITA (235 km.)
Breakfast. The tour of Sibiu includes the most important sites of the city: the Main Square, the Bridge of Liars, the Orthodox Cathedral (miniature copy of the Church of Santa Sofia in Istanbul), the Evangelical Church where the son of Dracula is buried. We also visit the Museum of Art Bruckental (located at the home of ex - governor of Transylvania, Samuel von Bruckental). Departure for Bistrita. On the way we will visit Biertan fortified church, included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage List. We follow with a tour of the citadel of Sighisoara, including the Clock Tower, the Church of the Hill and the stairwell. The city of Sighisoara is also declared as a UNESCO site, the only inhabited medieval town in southeastern Europe. We continue to Bistrita, another medieval town in German style. Accommodation and dinner at a hotel in Bistrita.
Day 4 BISTRITA - SUCEVITA ( 470 km.)
Breakfast. Today we cross the Carpathians and go ahead to the Castle of Count Dracula in the Borgo Pass. We continue with the wonderful Moldovita Monastery, famous with its fresh exterior and awarded the UNESCO prize "The Golden Apple". Accommodations in the area of Bucovina.
Day 5 SUCEVITA - PIATRA NEAMT (150 km.)
Breakfast. Today we visit the famous monasteries in northern Moldavia, important UNESCO sites: Sucevita, Humor and Voronet. Voronet is the largest and the best preserved of all painted churches in Moldova. It is known as the "Sistine Chapel" of the East, because all its paintings are projected on a blue background. Undoubtedly the most dramatic work is Doomsday. We have also included a visit of the workshop Marginea, very famous in Europe for its black pottery. Hotel accommodation in Piatra Neamt.
Day 6 PIATRA NEAMT - POIANA BRASOV (235 km.)
Breakfast. Today we return to Transylvania, passing by the Bicaz gorge (the most impressive of Romania). Then we go head to the 'Red Lake' -the only one of its kind in Romania. We continue to Brasov, one of the most visited cities in Romania. Afternoon sightseeing tour of the city including the Black Church, the Historical Center, Schei Gate. Accommodation at a hotel in Poiana Brasov.
Day 7 POIANA BRASOV - SINAIA (50 km.)
Breakfast. Today is the day of the castles. Sinaia is located near the Bucegi Mountains. Although the Sinaia monastery existed here since the seventeenth century, Sinaia gained his fame in the nineteenth century when it became the summer residence of the first Romanian King Carol I of Romania. We visit the Peles Castle, an example of German architecture. Then continue to Bran Castle-a medieval fortress, known worldwide under the name Castle Drácula. Overnight in Sinaia.
Day 8 SINAIA- BUCUREST (120 km.)
Breakfast. Transfer to the airport. Departure to the country of origin.
