Day 1 ARRIVAL IN SOFIA

Arrival in Sofia. Transfer to hotel. Walking tour of the center center, which includes the Rotunda of St. George (fourth century), National Archaeological Museum, National Theater, the Russian church of St. Nicholas, Parliament Square, the Alexander Nevski Memorial Cathedral with the collection most valuable icons, etc.. Overnight in Sofia. 

Day 2 SOFIA - RILA MONASTERY - SOFIA (180 km.)

After breakfast the tour continues to Rila Monastery, a UNESCO declared World Heritage. It is the largest and most important among 120 monasteries in Bulgaria. It was founded at the beginning of the tenth century. From this period have remained only Hrelew's Tower and the Monastery Kitchen. The visit begins at the Museum Monastery where there is an exposiotion of ancient icons, gospels, silver relics and other objects of worship. Afternoon return to Sofia and overnight. 

Day 3 TRIP WITH NOSTALGIA EXPRESS TRAIN /Sofia - Plovdiv/ - BACHKOVO MONASTERY -PLOVDIV ( 200 km.)

Breakfast and transfer to central railway station to take Nostalgia Express train, train that belonged to the royal family. Departure by train to Plovdiv. Upon arrival in the city tour the Old Town of Plovdiv. Visitors can stroll through its narrow streets, visit the ruins of the walls and the Roman Theater as well as picturesque houses of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, the church of Saints Constantine and Helena, the Ethnographic Museum, etc. Afternoon visit the Monastery of Bachkovo, the second monastery of Bulgaria for its size and importance. He has remarkable murals and museum. During the National Renaissance was one of the city's most important spiritual and cultural. Today is the holiest place of worship where the patriarchs are buried. In the afternoon return to Plovdiv and overnight. 

Day 4 TRIP WITH NOSTALGIA EXPRESS /Kazanlak - Tryavna/ - OVERNIGHT IN TRYAVNA (130 km.)

Breakfast. Morning transfer to railway station for departure by train to Kazanlak. Arrival in Kazanlak, situated in the Rose Valley. Visit the famous Thracian Thomb situated some miles away from the city center in a park. This dates from IV century BC and was discovered accidentally in 1944. Actually the tourists visit an identical replica, built in 1974 for the tourists. The tomb is covered with frescoes depicting scenes of a battle. The entire complex is Hellenistic and is the richest of all that are found in Ancient Thrace Province. The tomb is put in the UNESCO Cultural Heritage List. Procced the tour by bus and visit the Russian Church in the village of Shipka. Continuing by train to Tryavna. Arrival at a hotel and accommodation.

Day 5 TRIP WITH NOSTALGIA EXPRESS TRAIN/Tryavna - Veliko Tarnovo/ - ARBANASI - VELIKO TARNOVO (120 km.)

After breakfast stroll in the old town where the tourists can visit the wood carving museum, the church "Arhangel Mihail", the Old Bridge, The Clock Tower, etc. Travel by train to Veliko Tarnovo - the medieval capital of Bulgaria. Full day in Veliko Turnovo and the surrounding area including Tsarevets Fortress. Stroll through the medieval marketplace Samovodska Charshia. Visit by coach one of the most authentic villages - Arbanassi. Visit the Constancelieva's house that looks like a fortress and the Nativity Church "that has more than 3 500 images and scenes from the New Testament". Overnight in Veliko Tarnovo.

Day 6 TRIP WITH NOSTALGIA EXPRESS /Veliko Tarnovo - Pleven/ - TROYAN MONASTERY- SOFIA (340 km.)

Breakfast. Transfer to the railway station and depart to Pleven. Upon arrival visit Panorama , which is created as a memorial monument of the most epic battle in the liberation war between Russia and Turkey. Continue by bus to Troyan where visit the Troyan Monastery. Depart to Sofia. Transfer to hotel accommodation. 

Day 7 SOFIA

After breakfast visit Boyana Church included in UNESCO World Heritage List. The church is located 8 km from the center of the capital. The architectural complex consists of a small church built in 10th century and two floors dating from the 13th century. Its extraordinary importance as a cultural monument is due to the frescoes that were made in the year 1259. The rest of the afternoon is free. Overnight in Sofia. 

Day 8 SOFIA - ARRIVAL

Breakfast. Transfer to the airport. Departure to the point of origin .
